Botanical Art - Four Day Focus

Emphasis will be on basic watercolour skills used in Botanical Art. Suitable for all levels.

Course description

  • develop watercolour painting techniques

What you can hope to achieve

  • develop watercolour skills to complete a simple Botanical Art piece

What to bring

  • sketch pad
  • 2 Old handkerchiefs
  • HB and 2H pencils and pencil sharpener
  • white eraser and kneadable eraser
  • 2 water containers (e.g. jars)
  • sable brushes (if you own any)
  • 1 sheet (or part thereof) 300 gms Arches paper
  • white china plate or palette
  • small quantity of blue tac
  • Scotch magic tape
  • container to hold flower specimen
  • cardboard – pref white to use as backing board
  • sketch book
  • tracing paper/sheet
  • Windsor and Newton watercolour paints – Cerulean, French Ultramarine, Permanent Rose, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Lemon, Cadmium Yellow

  • children must not accompany adults to Adult Education classes
