Cake Decorating - Continuation (Eastern Shore)

Learn further techniques in the making of decorations and coverings for cakes for any occasion. Limited vacancies for beginners.

Course description

Each class will commence with a demonstration by the tuor of the themed topic for that lesson. You will then be free to work on your own project or one presented by the tutor. Topics will include royal icing work and piping, Australian wild flowers, wedding flowers, patchwork cutters and using moulds. It is expected that you have some cake decorating experience whether by class learning or being self taught. You will be expected to know how to cover a cake, make modelling paste and royal icing and have some basic equipment. If you are a beginner, please contact the tutor prior to enrolling.

What to bring

For beginners

Bring a small ice cream container or small lunch box to the first lesson. Do not buy any equipment until it has been discussed at the first lesson. Many items used in cake decorating you may have in your own kitchen.

For continuing students

Bring your usual decorating kit – modelling paste, stamen, wire, scissors, work board, small rolling pin, modelling tools etc.
If you have any cutters or equipment you would like to use or learn more about please ensure it is clearly marked when bring with you. Some equipment will be available for purchase from the tutor. If in doubt, Please phone Rosemary on 0417 039 100
There is a levy of $7 payable at the first lesson (covers the whole term)

Important information

  • If you are required to purchase extra materials for your class, please check the class viability with the organising office prior to making the purchase.
  • Please ensure mobile phones are off or on silent before entering the classroom.
  • Classes are NOT HELD ON PUBLIC HOLIDAYS unless otherwise advertised.
  • Children must not accompany adults to Adult Education classes.

To help us make your experience in our classes as enjoyable as possible, we may need to make some adjustments or special arrangements. If you have a medical condition, an infectious disease, a disability or special needs that may affect your ability or other participants to safely or comfortably take part in a class, please complete the Personal Fitness and Special Needs Form and return to the closest administrative centre listed on the form. If you cannot access the form online, please contact the organising centre and a copy will be mailed to you.
