French Conversation
Students must have completed at least 3 years (180 hrs) of AE French or its equivalent eg. 3C at College, and need to be confident enough to speak. Converse on a range of topics and refresh grammar points when needed. Phone 6233 8408 if unsure of level.
Course description
This class is for those who have had at least three years (around 200 hours) of tuition at Adult Education or elsewhere (eg 3C at college) and want to develop their conversation skills. You should be able to confidently speak in simple French already. Those who have had their tuition elsewhere and are unsure as to whether this level is appropriate, please phone the Program Coordinator 6233 8408. The class will be conducted in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in a small group. Topics will be chosen with the aim of expanding the range of subjects about which you can converse – and may range from everyday conversations to artistic and cultural issues. The choice will be guided by the wishes of the class. Please be ready to tolerate variations in the standard of French within the group. Given that there is not a huge demand for this service, it is impossible to be able to get sufficient numbers of French enthusiasts at the same standard to make a class viable.
If there are sufficient enrolments, the class will continue in the following term.
What to bring
- a pen and a note book for work done in class
- a folder for your handouts
- a willingness to have a go and make some mistakes
- any French dictionary (eg Collins, Roberts)
